Sherry
This is an independent bottling of single malt Scotch whisky from the much-adored Glenlivet distillery. The whisky was distilled in May 1996 and left to aged in a first-fill Sherry butt until February 2016, when the chaps from Signatory cracked open the cask and bottled the whisky inside.
Christmas cake and almonds. A good whack of orange peel. Honey.
Quite oily. Peppery spices arrive first, before waves of sweet, sticky Sherry.
Walnuts and fresh apples. Rather long.
