The Gauldrons Cask Strength (2023 Release)
This is the second cask-strength edition of The Gauldrons from Douglas Laing, a limited-edition blended malt from Campbeltown. Inspired by the region's dark sandy coves, The Gauldrons means "bay of storms", and with waves of coastal character, honeyed sweetness, and delicate smoke, we can imagine this being the perfect whisky to cosy up with when the weather is wild.
Tasting Note by The Producer
Nose
A sea breeze with a hint of bonfire and some manuka honey.
Palate
Initially a maritime character appears, followed by sweet vanilla and dried oak.
Finish
A distinctly spicy finish with a touch of sea salt, stone fruits, and more honey.
