Teeling Kyrö Rye Gin Cask Finish
Dublin's Teeling collaborated with Isokyrö's Kyrö Distillery Company for a particularly intriguing expression - an Irish whiskey finished in casks that previously held Finnish rye gin! Teeling's master distiller picked out four casks that had matured Kyrö's excellent gin (which is made with a base of rye grain), and used them to finish Teeling's very own Small Batch whiskey. The casks imparted a wealth of floral, herbaceous, citrusy elements to this expression, while the vanilla, caramel and baking spice notes from the whiskey persist and blend brilliantly.

Nose
Orange blossom, freshly cut grass, brown sugar and a hint of dried red berries.
Palate
Enjoyably oily with malt, citrus zest and oak, followed by layers of vanilla and cinnamon.
Finish
Lingering florals, plus cooked apple and peppercorn.
