It's not every day you see Teaninich single malt Scotch whisky, as a lot of the distillery's produce ends up in some very well known and well loved blends. However, some of the whisky does make it to our glasses through the medium of independent bottlings! Hooray! This Hunter Laing Old & Rare Platinum bottling features a 40 year old (!) single cask Teaninich single malt, matured in a Sherry hogshead from December 1973 to October 2014. Just 229 bottles were produced.

Very nice. The nose is wonderful. A slight hint of smoke and the sherry influence is there on the palate but it is not overpowering. Great finish. It's a shame that more single cast offering are not available from this distillery. I drank it neat and found it to be superb. The 40 years maturation has produced a complex and satisfying finish. Highly recommended.
