This right here is a rather marvellous single cask single malt distilled at Teaninich in June 2009 – independently bottled by Douglas Laing, and available exclusively from Master of Malt! After a dozen years, the cask was cracked open in January 2022, releasing an outturn of 333 bottles of this delicious dram for the Old Particular, Fanatical About Flavour series.

Nutty barley, fresh bread, and toasted woodchips with zesty wafts of lemon peel. Grassy hay rests beneath, though burnt caramel keeps things sweet.
Biscuity malt and earthy wafts of smoky black tea. Fruit cake spice builds, with creamy fudge balancing faint murmurs of peat.
Candied fruits and clove-studded linger alongside subtle peat smoke and crunchy ginger biscuits.
Also getting a little pickeled ginger on the arival & some cusdatd cream biscuits with a backbone of bitter lemon pith(not rind) in the development. If this was unpeated it would remind me of a Hazleburn 10.
I took a punt on this 1 & am pleasantly surprised. Fresh, bright & light. Grist & barley sugar. Cool smoke & dry peat. Not harsh at all for a SC but I do suggest 10ml water per dram for this 1.
Just thought I would try this based on other customers reviews. I usually prefer peated whiskies but this is rather wonderful,aromas of freshly baked bread and that understated peaty aftertaste,delicious.
Fresh bread and lemon zest on nose. Mouth-coating, somewhat waxy mouthfeel. Grassy. Spicy. Sweet. Pleasing finish that makes you want more. Good job, great dram!
