Single Malt
A wonderfully well-sherried single malt from the Tamnavulin Distillery, which begins its life in American oak barrels before being finished in three different types of sherry casks! Three of 'em! Shouldn't come as a surprise, but if you're a fan of all those Christmas cakey, chocolatey, red berry-y notes, you'll probably be into this one from the Speyside-based distillery.
Brown sugar, gingersnaps and cinnamon rolls, raspberry jam and a hint of toasted malt.
Cadbury's Fruit & Nut, more pastry notes, honeycomb and Christmas cake.
Dried apricot, citrus peels and vanilla pod.
Great BUT put off by the wild fluctuation in price from time to timt
Put your feet up watch tele and enjoy a lovely smooth malt .
It is what it is. A n.a.s single malt scotch whisky. But imho it’s a flipping classic of its genre and I love it. No no ko says it’s too young but any more ageing would take it to Nomad grade ( which I’m in no way knocking.) For those who enjoy a sherried tot it’s right up there with aged specimens. Soft, fruity, nice on the nose and very pleasant on the tongue and aftertaste. For the price you can get it for, it’s bloomin lovely and I’ll be getting a couple of bottles for my digital Christmas.
Ended up with the sherry cask, after the wrong bottle was put in the box by the shop assistant, I wasn't paying attention either as I didn't notice! But, what a pleasant surprise. I already really liked the double cask, but this is even better. Lovely deep flavour, spicy, sweet and long lasting
If you like fruit cake you will be drawn to this whisky. To my taste a sweet nose and a satisfying mouthful. Great with ice and nothing else
