Tamdhu 21 Year Old 1990 - Old & Rare (Douglas Laing)
This is a twenty-one year old sherry cask bottling of Tamdhu selected for Douglas Laing's Old & Rare range. Tamdhu is one of the principal ingredients in the Famous Grouse blend. Tamdhu has been mothballed for a few years however production is thought to recommence sometime in 2012.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Rich dark chocolate sauce with berry compote followed by a hint of spent sparkler.
Palate
This is a sherry-bomb in the palate with lots of dense dried fruits, chocolate and spice fighting for supremacy.
Finish
The finish is long, and peppered with fruit and nut flavours.
Overall
This is a real dram for sherry cask lovers, big dried fruit and chocolate notes bursting out of the glass at every opportunity.
