Tamdhu 20 Year Old 1999 (cask 13785) - Old Particular (Douglas Laing)
20 year old Tamdhu, independently bottled by Douglas Laing for the Old Particular range. Interestingly, this one was matured in a virgin oak casks - you'll often see Tamdhu aged in sherry casks, so it'll be neat to see what's going on underneath the sherry here. It was distilled in August 1999 and bottled in December 2019, with an outturn of 265.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Still surprisingly fruity for a virgin cask whisky - green apple and blueberries!
Palate
The fruit notes continue on the palate, but now supported by cut grass, oaky vanilla, basil and chocolate digestives.
Finish
Ground cinnamon, lemon and cedar.
