Originally released for the Travel Retail market, Talisker's Dark Storm is matured in heavily charred oak casks, imparting yet more smoke and spice to the already intensely smoky whisky. A fantastic release from the distillery on the Isle of Skye.
Smoky bacon, black pepper and red chili, dressed with a touch of orchard fruit and golden malt.
Huge oak influence, with a big burst of smoke on palate entry. Beyond that, though, you find red fruit, citrus and fresh honey.
A very, very long finish, peppered with honey-roasted nuts.

An inspiring taste on a cold day, providing heart-warming tones to the olfactory system and taste buds. Long yet light after-taste typical of light oak-oils. A most pleasing dram.
If you enjoyed Talisker Storm you will fall for Dark Storm
It's too expensive for its quality.
Save your money, this isn't worth the bottle it comes in. Not sure I will even finish mine. Commits all three cardinal sins of mass production distilling (more the fool me buying it): caramel colouring, chill filtering, no age statement. Smoky but no depth or subtlety, no finish to speak of. Very disappointing from such a high calibre distiller.
Talisker do know how to make a good whisky so I really don't understand why they came up with this...
