Originally released for the Travel Retail market, Talisker's Dark Storm is matured in heavily charred oak casks, imparting yet more smoke and spice to the already intensely smoky whisky. A fantastic release from the distillery on the Isle of Skye.
Smoky bacon, black pepper and red chili, dressed with a touch of orchard fruit and golden malt.
Huge oak influence, with a big burst of smoke on palate entry. Beyond that, though, you find red fruit, citrus and fresh honey.
A very, very long finish, peppered with honey-roasted nuts.

Great whisky overall. Dark, smoky, peaty, full bodied and very long finish. Perfect whisky for relaxing in your library with a cigar, or discussing politics with your cronies (lol). The long slow burn on the finish may be too much for some palates.
Absolutely the best whisky I have tasted I'm 60 odd so I have had a few. Suits me to perfection. Please do not change anything!!!
For me, one word describes this whisky ... 'sublime'. Straight up in a slightly warmed glass, on the first sip, there is a saltiness...followed by strong smoke and peat. The initial saltiness gives way to a sweetness, almost like salted caramel on the taste buds. A lingering burn to finish. I will most certainly be buying again.
Love the extra smokiness and the flavours!
Good but not really up to taliskers of old eg 14 yr old. Needs a bit of water. Scotch is based on the year so don't understand this change in branding, go back to yr please
