Originally released for the Travel Retail market, Talisker's Dark Storm is matured in heavily charred oak casks, imparting yet more smoke and spice to the already intensely smoky whisky. A fantastic release from the distillery on the Isle of Skye.
Smoky bacon, black pepper and red chili, dressed with a touch of orchard fruit and golden malt.
Huge oak influence, with a big burst of smoke on palate entry. Beyond that, though, you find red fruit, citrus and fresh honey.
A very, very long finish, peppered with honey-roasted nuts.

Very polarizing. You either love it or hate it. I do enjoy Laphroaig, but this is like drinking burnt wood. Peat and smoke overkill for me.
Love it! Amazing smokiness with spices and some dried fruits on the side. Nice long finish. Recommend!
The most tastiest whisky ever.
The charred cascs give an appealing, strange and rich complexity. A warm twilight.
Absolutely flabbergasted by the poor reviews here. It's like some of you are drinking a different whisky, or maybe you just DON'T like big dirty beasts. You people should play it safe and tick to Macallan and Glenmorangie. This has huge flavour and punch; rough around the edges in the best way; you can actually taste the char; a whisky for men, not boys.
