Distilled at Strathisla distillery in June 1991, this single cask whisky was released by Douglas Laing and as part of their Old Malt Cask series. After a maturation period of 21 years in cask 9519 it was bottled in February 2013 at 50% abv (the 'golden strength').
Nose: Allspice, acacia honey, barley. Spring mornings.
Palate: Malty sweetness, Tunnocks teacakes and a hint of demarara.
Finish: Smooth. Oak and cystallised ginger.
Overall: Dark sweetness and malt, a terrific Strathisla.
