Strathisla 12 Year Old is a fruity and sherry-rich single malt from one of the oldest Scottish distilleries in operation (and a very handsome one at that - the pair of pagodas atop Strathmill make for a very striking image on the horizon). A perfect single malt for people new to the wonders of whisky,as its easy to sip and enjoy the sweet toffee flavour.
Soft oak and hints of candied peel. A little floral character too, with notes of spice and Danish pastries.
Malty core with notes of sultanas and cinnamon pastries. Allspice, cooked apple and mince pies.
Long finish. Very fruity.
A good all-rounder - excellent value for money...

Pleasant and fun. Strong smell of oak and flowers. Especially fruity with flavors of cinnamon, apple and cherry. Spices I did not find. Very good for everyday use.
Easy drinking with a satisfyingly friendly taste yet has enough subtle notes to keep things interesting should you wish to explore its characteristics. Floral and citrus taste notes are accompanied by smooth caramel and a woody sherry foundation, with a brown sugar malty bite and hints of delicate spices. Currently my go-to daily whisky since it is versatile and on offer in my local shop. I paid £27 but the usual price locally is £37 which i feel is a little steep. I would say at £27 it is great value for money.
Same league as Aberfeldy 12 and Aberlour 12. Pleasant, fruity, delicate and not overly complex. Easy sipper, good to just sit t and watch telly with. Do not expect much engagement from it, but it is good, everyday dram. Lots of caramel looks a bit silly. Just get it on sale in your local supermarket, otherwise it tends to be a bit overpriced for what it is.
A new discovery for me and it has quickly become my current favourite. I find it easy to drink and full of flavour, with a lingering, satisfying aftertaste. This was a birthday present for me, but I will be buying another bottle soon.
I’m a single malt drinker. This is one of my favourite Speyside. Really worth for the price.
