Strathclyde 30 Year Old (cask 14448)- The Sovereign (Hunter Laing)
A single cask bottling of 30 year old single grain from Strathclyde, independently bottled by Hunter Laing. This whisky was distilled in 1987 and set aside to age in a refill hogshead for three decades before being bottled at 50.7% ABV. 175 bottles were produced for The Sovereign series.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Lemon meringue pie, molasses, honey and mature oak.
Palate
Fruity esters and melted chocolate, with a whiff of tobacco underneath.
Finish
Vanilla tablet, peach, pineapple.
