Strathclyde 30 Year Old 1988 (cask 12950) - Xtra Old Particular (Douglas Laing)
From Douglas Laing's Xtra Old Particular range, which is reserved for very rare and well-aged whiskies, comes 30 year old single grain Scotch whisky distilled by Strathclyde! This one was distilled in June 1988 and aged in a refill barrel until November 2018, when it was bottled with an outturn of 174 bottles.
Tasting Note by The Producer
The nose opens with a candy shop sweetness developing to a spiced cereal character with home baking. The palate is creamy, with vanilla custard, spiced oak, ripe banana and honeycomb. The long finish shows layer on layer of vanilla fudge with citrus peel and icing sugar.
