A citrus-packed single grain Scotch whisky from the Strathclyde, matured in a refill barrel for 27 years, from 1988 to 2015. Independently bottled as part of the Clan Denny range by Douglas Laing.
Citrus peels open it up, soon moving on to caramels and a crackle of spice.
Orange and lemon battles it out for dominance, while notes of brown sugar sit in the background.
Lemon wins overall on the finish.
