I got this bottle because I wanted to drink a scotch older than I was and it was the only 25 year old bottle I could afford. I got what I paid for.

"Drink scotch older than you are." Was the sage advice given to me by my Scottish professor when our department descended upon the pub. I took those words to heart and when I was 24 I started to seek out a 25 year old bottle of scotch that I could afford. The best I can say about this bottle is that it's affordable enough you can drink it while you're still younger than it. It lacks complexity. It's identifiably whisky but that's really it. I don't bring this out when I want to show off, regardless of its age. If you had to get it, I'd recommend giving it as a gift for someone who would be impressed by the age but wouldn't appreciate a better bottle. Full disclosure: My favorite whisky is Port Charlotte Scottish Barley. I may not be the target audience for this whisky.

    A great bottling. A beauty!

What an amazing whisky. It would be nice if more people tried single grain whiskies! so much more value and flavour! keep it up Douglas Laing!
