Strathclyde 11 Year Old 2005 (cask 11952) - Old Particular (Douglas Laing)
Distilled in November 2005 at Strathclyde, this single grain Scotch whisky was matured for 11 years and was finished in a sherry butt. Douglas Laing bottled the result at a weighty 55.5% ABV for the Old Particular range in July 2017, with an outturn of 638 bottles. There's no artificial colouring or chill-filtration and it comes presented in that classic Old Particular packaging - what's not to like?
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Almond butter and milk chocolate coat sweet apple flesh and juicy honeydew melon. A kick of white pepper threatens to surge in the background.
Palate
Sherry spices, red grapes and dried fruit sweetness come first, before espresso and manuka honey arrive in timely fashion.
Finish
Lingering malty notes and vegetal oak coated in caramel.
