Rum Finish
Cask-finished Danish rye whisky from Stauning! The malted rye whisky was initially matured in virgin heavily-charred American white oak, before it was finished in casks which previously held rum from Belize for six months. It was bottled at 46.5% ABV, packed full of complex fruity flavours among the spicier notes.
Cigar box, vanilla blossom, cinnamon, praline, chocolate-dipped banana, and oak char.
Warm and spiced, with chocolate sauce, dried apricot, orange chocolate, fig, and waxy honey.
Buttered rye toast, oily orange peel, and dried pear.

A lovely, complex rye whisky. Stauning rye has an already unique profile but this elevates it a fair bit. The cigar/leather undertone is still there but the rum cask finish adds a little sweetness and subtle fruit. Quite sublime.
