Starward Tawny Bottling Note

Another absolutely cracking limited edition release from Australia's Starward, Tawny is a single malt which has spent its entire maturation in tawny fortified wine octaves! Both fresh tawny casks from the Yalumba winery as well as charred tawny casks from SA Cooperage were used, and the whisky was crafted specially to be an after dinner sipper, full of rich dried fruit, spice and nuts.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose: Banana bread and dried peels, with peanut butter and raisin.

Palate: Rather Christmassy, with spiced cooked plum, more dried fruit and citrus, a good helping of malt and grape sweetness.

Finish: A dusting of brown sugar and oily nuts on a dry, spicy finish.

Perfect balance at 48% abv (96 proof), rich Christmas cake flavours and opulent caramel aromas all round.

Nose: Beautiful caramel apple pie, peppery oak and wild honey aromas. Toasted brown sugars and cinnamon notes.
Palate: Syrupy dried black fruits, almond toffee and spicy clove flavours. Rich caramels and black pepper notes.
Finish: Long, spicy and flavoursome.
Lovely nutmeg, dried figs, dark chocolate and rich brown sugars.
