The folks at Berry Bros. & Rudd have teamed up with Australia's Starward for the very first time! Distilled in 2016 from Australian barley, the single malt was matured in a cask which previously held Apera (an Australian sherry-style fortified wine) for four years. It was bottled at cask strength, weighing in at 58.2% ABV. Hopefully this is the first of many!
Red fruit and lots of bold oaky notes, with touches of dried fruit and ripe orchard fruit in the background.
Apricot jam and more red fruit (namely cherry) leading into cigar box, spicy wood and almond.
Spiced apple and woody vanilla.
