English Whisky Co. 11 Year Old - North Star Spirits Reviews

yeah, not bad but to pricey. The sulphur taste dose hit the taste buds but overhaul not a bad shot but as someone said earlier over priced . For me would be a good buy at £50 t0£60Ithere

over priced

Clearly a divisive malt!

Was really surprised to read the reviews below - I'm typically not a fan of wine casks at all, but this was wonderful! Deep plum and tannin flavours, with the usual crisp notes of a St George's whisky. Only the faintest hint of sulphur to detect, which doesn't detract from the overall enjoyment.

If you like the sulphur note (i do) it's a lovely dram.

If you like the sulphur note (i do) it's a lovely dram. Overpriced, however. I'd be happy to be served it but would not buy. Would rate it higher if it was more like £60

Worst North Star bottling I've had

Huge Sulphur notes straight off the bat and then... more of the same. The sulphur really doesn't let any other flavours come through, shame as I was looking forward to this being an interesting bottling.

Absolutely rank

Absolutely foul and by far the worst whisky I have ever tried. Sulphur and burned rubber with no redeeming features. Why they bottled this is beyond me.

Wonderfully surprising

Tried blind at a North Star tasting. Absolutely blown away. A wonderful seaweed and smokey dram that's reminiscent of a good Bruichladdich. It's juicy red fruit with a bitter cocoa backdrop. Really surprising dram.

Sulphur and rubber

Purchased this for a celebration and have to say I am really disappointed. The initial taste is unusual and it leaves such a strong finish of sulphur and rubber that i can't drink it. I have had 9 other North Star spirits whisky's and they have all been superb - this is horrible.
The MOM tasting notes are usually spot on, not in this case or me
