Speyburn 7 Year Old 2004 (cask 8498) - Provenance (Douglas Laing)
A 7 year old from Speyburn, distilled in Winter of 2004 and aged in a single sherry butt before bottling in Spring of 2012 for the Provenance range from Douglas Laing. Despite the relative youth of this malt, thanks to the quality of the cask there is tons of character on offer here.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Floral nose with grist and sweet cider. A little baked pear with honey develops.
Palate
Notes of candied peels, sherbet lemons, barley malt and apple peel. Black Forest honey and cocoa develop with time in the glass.
Finish
An aromatic, sweet finish with lavender and honeysuckle on the tail.
