Speyburn 14 Year Old 2007 (cask 18986) - Old Malt Cask (Hunter Laing)
A superb Speyburn single malt, independently bottled by Hunter Laing for the long-running Old Malt Cask range. It was distilled in 2007 and filled into a sherry butt, where it slumbered for 14 years. In 2022, it was finally bottled up at 50% ABV, with just 612 bottles produced.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Cooked apple, dry oak, a touch of rhubarb lingering.
Palate
Flaky pastries filled with more cooked apple, plus drizzles of caramel and honey.
Finish
Oaty flapjacks and chocolate chip cookies.
