Sherry
All the way from an undisclosed Speyside distillery and joining the Cask Strength Collection from Signatory. This single malt Scotch whisky was distilled in 2005 and spent 17 maturing in a first-fill oloroso sherry butt. It was bottled in 2023 without any added colour, and with an outturn of 634 bottles.
Big sherry notes, spiced syrupy figs and raisins.
Spiced fruitcake, Lamingtons, with some oily walnuts, and warming pepper.
Sweet and spicy.

I really tried hard on this one but found it unpalatable - very many whiskys a fraction of the price are so much better
