Single cask single malt from Japan's Shinshu Distillery here, folks. Always exciting stuff from this fab distillery. This one was aged in a single first-fill bourbon barrel, which was filled back in 2015 and eventually cracked open in 2021. It was bottled up at cask strength, weighing in at a hefty 63% ABV.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose

Floral barley and fresh green fruit, with a smidge of dried apricot. Sandalwood later on.

Palate

Slightly peppery as it opens, before another waft of vanilla blossom and violet appears. Oily walnut and almond.

Finish

Nutmeg and white pepper on the finish.
