Mars Komagatake 2012 (bottled 2016) (cask 1555) (La Maison du Whisky 60th Anniversary)
A single cask offering of Japanese whisky from the little-known Shinshu distillery, bottled as part of La Maison du Whisky's 60th Anniversary celebrations. It was distilled in 2012 (a year after the distillery resumed production of its whisky following a period of inactivity) and bottled in 2016.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Honey, waxy apples, a slightly floral hint of peaty smoke.
Palate
Light, creamy malt. Cooking spices grow and grow. A slight touch of tropical fruit.
Finish
Toasted barley and cedar.
