3 year old Canadian rye whisky, named after a lodge supposedly owned by a Prohibition era whisky blender who sold his wares to those that came up to Quebec to get the hands on contraband alcohol.
I like a wide range of sprits but this is just bad, I've never found anything I just couldn't drink before. I don't know how they have to gall to bottle it. It tastes like spoiled gin.
Has a nose of rubbing alcohol, and initially on the mouth it is very harsh, however it mellows out and finishes with a very smooth and fruity sweet, almost rum like finish. It's not brilliant, but it's drinkable, and pleasant in its own way, though I'll admit it is growing on me. The pale colour it has (yes, it almost clear) also makes it quite an interesting conversation starter when I'm offering friends a drink.
