Single Malt
Scotland
Highlands and Islands Whisky Company

A great Islay single malt from an unnamed distillery. The Ileach always scores well with the critics, this cask strength edition was awarded a mindblowingly high 97 points by Jim Murray in his 2010 Whisky Bible.

Blimey! This should be called 'Aftershock' or 'Blowback'. A lovely peaty malt that hits the palate very nicely, then follow up with a secondary punch that you need to be ready for.
I stumbled across this amazing dram whilst meandering along Callander high street and found The Callander drinks company. Rachel was great in guiding on various Whiskies and this was, for me, a hidden gem. I love this dram, 58% abv, cask strength. A new single malt for me, loved it.
Really fantastic cask strength whisky. Is pretty hot at 58% but it's manageable. Wonderful aromatic peat with meaty character, bacon crisps and treacle. Easy on adding water. I imagine the 40% version is a pale comparison next to this beast.
Still as good as the last time I bought a bottle. Smooth enough to take neat. This is a great sipping whisky. Complex for a NAS dram - there's a hint of the Wee Beastie and Stiuireadair about this one. Buy. Enjoy!
Included a bottle in one of our steak & cigar nights and it easily held its own alongside some much more expensive malts. Everything I’m looking for from an Islay. Helped along by a few drops of water, third delivers a properly peaty smack in the mouth. Classy.
