Douglas Laing
Scotland

A 13 year old variation on Douglas Laing's spectacular Scallywag blended malt Scotch whisky! Boasting a selection of Speyside malts within its recipe (all aged for at least 13 years for this expression), Scallywag is a well-Sherried treat for the tastebuds. Also, it's got a Fox Terrier on the label, which we're big fans of.
Steamed berry pudding, ginger and vanilla-rich malt.
Brown sugar, blackberries and chocolate fudge.
Granola bars and milk chocolate, with a hint of cinnamon warmth.

Blended malt is a whisky that is a mixture of single malts from different distilleries with no grain whisky added. Blended whisky is also a mixture of different single malts but grain whisky is added, so it's not just malt whisky. Typically as far as I'm aware blended whisky is usually about 40% malt 60% grain. Examples of the two. Johnnie Walker Black label is a blended whisky. Johnnie Walker Green label is a blended malt.
"will never make the mistake of classing blended malts and blended scotch in the same category again" - what's this guy below talking about?
Wow, this is a great blend, very sherried got nose blackberries as soon as I poured in the glass. Malty palate with vanilla, black pepper and chocolate milkshake. Very pleased with it
Absolutely brilliant whisky! So sherried and silky smooth. A must buy!
A really great whisky and a really special opportunity to try a vatting of multiple speyside malts! I'm definitely a blended malt convert and will never make the mistake of classing blended malts and blended scotch in the same category again. Bravo Douglas Laing & Co. for this fabulous expression!
