Rock Oyster Sherry Ed.

Described by bottler Douglas Laing as the "lip-smacking success story of the magic that can happen when sweet meets peat", Rock Oyster Scotch blended malt pairs Island salt-citrus character with the richness of sherry butts. A nautical theme presides over the handsome bottle and label, which we also enjoy.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose Its sweetly peated nature is immediately apparent, along with heaps of dark fruit.

Palate Sea salt whipped up on a sea breeze, warm Christmas spices, a cereal quality and that gentle peat smoke. Tasty.

Finish Long and saline, balanced with those dark fruits.

Overall A complex drop - sweet and peat are a match made in heaven.

Reviews for Rock Oyster Sherry Edition
Just try it
Absolutely marvelous vatted malt, peat meets sweet, and the finish is soooo long, with never-ending saltiness. Perfect

To me it is saline, not peat
Having known Rock Oyster original and loved it, I just had to try it when I found it unexpectedly in a Hong Kong off license. Shery meets Saline/Mild peat. Very interesting. I love Douglas Laing creations.

Very good indeed
This is my personal favorite Douglas Laing expression. The sweet sherry influence (dark fruits and fruitcake) elevates the already worthy Rock Oyster to a new level. The mix of the aforementioned sherry influences with Rock Oyster's typical briny (seasalt/coastal), peaty cereal qualities are absolutely amazing.

Definitely worth a try!
A well balanced whisky. Elegant peat on one side, embraced by aromatic tones of sherry on the other side.
