A limited edition bottling of Douglas Laing's Rock Island blended malt, with a decidedly sherried style to it. Built around malts from Islay, Arran, Jura and Orkney, this expression enjoyed its final stretch of maturation in specially selected Spanish sherry butts. The result is a whisky that offers up coastal salinity brilliantly balanced by dried fruit sweetness and warming spice.
Raisins, toasted brown sugar, sea spray and cured meats.
Soft peat smoke and salted crackers, juxtaposed by strawberry jam and stem ginger.
Lasting salted caramel and cinnamon.

A great, impressive malt. Really impressed by this one. Tasting notes of salted caramel with peat and barley, damp earth and moss and charred oak.
This is a really superb whisky. I’m a fan of island oceanic style whiskies so this really ticks my box plus the sherry finishing is excellent and adds a whole new level of depth of flavour
This and the standard Rock Island are a must for Mezcal enjoyers wanting that kind of funkiness (minus the oilyness) in a Whiskey
After drinking highland and speysides for the last few years albeit a bottle a week .... this one is the first touch of smoke ive had for a long time. I'm making my way through the Douglas lanes blended malts and this one truly brings shear magic and much joy Its fantastic.
This is pretty phenomenal Whisky - the salty, island, oceanic style mixes so very, very well with the eveident sherry heritage of the casks used. Really would recommend this.
