“Slightly darker in colour then the 10, as you would expect from the extra cask maturation. The nose is total sea spray and beach, lovely aroma. Notes too of lemon zest and pineapple chunks, along with a very zingy minty note. It would be good for a blocked nose! On the first sip, it makes your mouth tingle and water. It has everything, sweet, sour and spicy. Vanilla mixes with a light ginger and pepper, the saltiness mixing beautifully with the cask oak. The sea spray remains on a very long finish,along with traces of tropical fruit and banana. Adding a drop of water brings the spice to the fore, a little more pepper and chilli, toning down the beach explosion. I'd personally prefer it neat. A wonderful dram, which I will look into to replace my 10 year old when it's drunk. Sensational.”
