Hailing from the iconic, and long-lost Port Ellen distillery on Islay, this exceedingly impressive single malt was bottled by Douglas Laing to mark an equally impressive occasion – it's the independent bottler's 75th Anniversary! Distilled in September 1982, the whisky matured in a single refill butt for a generous 40 years, before bottling in July 2023. Each bottle is adorned with a metal label, accompanied by a premium booklet and certificate hand-signed by Fred and Cara Laing, housed in a superb presentation box to honour the diamond anniversary. A total of 290 bottles make a very special addition to the Xtra Old Particular collection.
Please note: this bottle is stored under lock and key, protected by chains and lasers, so we'll need a few extra days to crack it out of our vault and ship to you.
Tasting Note by The Producer
Nose The nose opens sugary sweet ahead of a citric, oceanic, beachy and warm cereal backdrop.
Palate The mouth-puckeringly salty palate is so Islay in style with bonfire ash, smoking peat and coal dust.
Finish Catch smoke on the finish with soft chewed leather, chimney soot and a phenolic creosote style.
