A Directors' Cut bottling from Douglas Laing of Port Ellen single malt. Yes, that Port Ellen, the one on Islay that was closed in the '80s and has remained closed ever since. Their stocks of superbly peaty whisky have become legendary and rare, which is why releases like this are delightful sights for collectors and connoisseurs.
This particular edition comes from cask #10355, which was filled in May 1979 and matured the single malt Scotch whisky for 35 years. It was bottled in June 2014 with an outturn of just 162 bottles.
