    Port Askaig 100° Proof

Launched in 2015, the Port Askaig 100° Proof is a big, smoky single malt Scotch whisky from an undisclosed Islay distillery. This is bottled at 57.1% ABV - which is 100° Proof in a traditional system of alcohol content measurement (different from 100 proof, which you're much more likely to see on American bottlings).

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

    Nose

Earthy smoke rises first, shortly followed by smoked meats, citrus peels and a heaped spoonful of brown sugar.

    Palate

Zesty lemon and lime, paired with ground cumin, Smiths Bacon Fries and a touch of apple juice.

    Finish

    Rather long and enjoyably soot-y.

    Great light smokey peat

Great smokey taste, with some subtle nuisances that make it stand out from your normal islay peat. Slightly lighter than most smokey whiskies.
