Origin is a New Zealand single malt whisky from Pokeno distillery. It's made using local barley and matured exclusively in first-fill bourbon casks. So expect plenty of silky vanilla and balanced spice from this highly approachable whisky.
It's very floral on the nose, jasmine like, and very light and smooth, to the point I thought it's a blend. At 50GBP, it's not great, but it is discounted to 30GBP, which make it not great but cheap whisky.
A welcomed dram from Kiwi-Land recently travelled back from Auckland and found this at a local watering hole. Citrus, big vanilla hits followed by that peppery oak warmth. Well done to the team this is a winner for a first bottling.
