Penderyn Legend is a Welsh single malt whisky firstly matured in bourbon barrels and finished in ex-Madeira casks before it's bottled, imparting an intriguing touch of vibrant sweetness. It has been bottled at 41% ABV, slightly lower than the Welsh distillers' other Madeira-cask-finished single malt.

I'm quite confused by these reviews, half call it smooth, half call it firey, are you all drinking the same bottle? Very fresh and floral, raw and peppery spice. It's the only bottle in my cabinet that goes down very slowly and not because I am savouring it, it's not bad, just not my cup of tea to be honest.
I first started Penderyn with the Madeira finish. Really loved that, a nice departure from many Scottish Single Malts. I picked up the Legend hoping for something equally interesting. What I found was pretty bland. Like Orange Squash watered down too much. Not bad, not great, just bland. You could mix it with something and probably not notice it, and it isn't a solo drinker either.
Bloody lovely
Equal to most (62 years experience been savouring since my early 20s) but do tend to spread my taste buds around a bit, will buy or willingly accept as a gift anytime.
I think this would be best described as a dessert whisky, a fantastic finisher to a meaty meal. Give it a couple of ice cubes and you have a whisky with a slightly sweet edge but with great smoothness and very drinkable. This is different to my usual choices but very enjoyable and, I feel, is a good addition to anyone’s whisky collection.
