Old Perth 21 Year Old Limited Edition is what happens when serendipity meets sherry. Back in 2015, a vatting of Highland Park (already around 10–11 years old) and older Macallan was rolled into oloroso butts for a long sleep. It wasn’t planned, it wasn’t repeatable, and yet here it is — bottled at 43.6% ABV and looking downright glorious after 21 years.
Sticky raisins, dates, and sultanas, with dark orange peel, old leather, and polished oak. A flicker of Highland smoke drifts in behind rich baking spice.
Chocolate-dipped cherries, spiced plums, and treacle tart. Layers of nutmeg, clove, and roasted coffee, with a drizzle of honeyed sweetness. Gentle smoke weaves through without stealing the show.
Long, warming, and rich with dried fruit, sherry spice, and mellow oak. The smoke lingers, whispering rather than shouting.
