Vega 23 Year Old 1993 - North Star Spirits
Vega is a blended malt Scotch whisky from the North Star Spirits chaps, made with whiskies aged for at least 23 years in both Spanish and American oak casks. It was named after the star in the Lyra constellation, not after the claw-wielding Street Fighter character. 400 bottles were produced.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Bourbon-y caramel at first, with light peat smoke and poached pear following soon afterwards.
Palate
Robustly malty, with plenty of vanilla and treacle. A subtle touch of mineral-y smoke.
Finish
Chilli chocolate and brandied cherries.
