Here we have the fourth release in the popular Vega series from independent bottler North Star Spirits, and it's a wonderful Speyside blended malt, distilled in 1990. It's made with whisky drawn from both Spanish and American oak casks, matured for a minimum of 28 years. 800 bottles were produced.
Fun fact: the Vega star will replace Polaris as our North Star in 11,000 years. Mark it down on your calendars.
Stewed apple, clove, tobacco and a hint of fresh menthol, with jammy forest fruits and fragrant honey with a pinch of Mediterranean herbs.
More honey and more of those lovely berries, with oodles of oak spice balanced by a good helping of fresh mint.
Tannic, spicy and drying, with toffee apple and vanilla.
