Secretive single malt from Islay, independently bottled by North Star Spirits. The whisky comes from an undisclosed distillery on the legendary Hebridean isle, and aged for 12 years in a refill hogshead - from September 2005 to September 2017. Only 132 bottles were produced.
A big waft of peat as it opens, though with time grassy vanilla and soft menthol notes develop.
Caraway and thyme - hugely herbaceous stuff! Hints of burnt caramel and toasted oak give it some sweetness and smoke.
A long, smoky finish with underlying peppercorn heat.
