55 year old single grain Scotch whisky, distilled by North British and bottled by Douglas Laing - mouthwatering stuff! This was aged in a refill hogshead from August 1962 until March 2018, when it was bottled for the Xtra Old Particular range. Only 250 bottles were produced.
Tasting Note by The Producer
The nose opens with concentrated vanilla essence before it runs to a spicy tablet quality. the palate remains sweet with a creamy caramel mouthfeel and develops to abundant spices and treacle. The finish is medium-long, replicating the palate, now with muscovado sugar.
