Cor blimey! This Sovereign bottling of North British single grain Scotch whisky is 50 years old! It comes bottled at a solid 57.2% abv, made possible by Hunter Laing.
An intense nose which runs deep with sherry-soaked raisins and those rhubarb and custard sweets that are hard to find these days.
Massive, rich vanilla notes, with more custard coming through as well. Deeper within you'll find some nutty notes wrapped up in smooth oak.
Return of the sherry!
You can't fault Hunter Laing for waiting so long before cracking open this cask if it tastes this good.
