North British 30 Year Old 1988 (cask 12538) - Xtra Old Particular (Douglas Laing)

North British single grain Scotch whisky, matured for 30 years in a single refill barrel before being bottled by Douglas Laing for the Xtra Old Particular range. It was distilled in July 1988 and left to age until July 2018, when it was bottled at cask strength with an outturn of only 213 bottles.

Tasting Note by The Producer

The nose is vanilla rich with spice, milk chocolate and damp oak. The creamy and mouth-coating palate shows red fruits, maple syrup and toffee, popcorn, and the finish lingers sweetly with brown sugar, fruit salad, candy floss and caramel.
