Nikka Days

Nikka Days is a brilliantly bright blended Japanese whisky from the legendary producer, featuring spirits from the Miyagikyo and Yoichi distilleries. The slightly peated whisky delicately balances both fruity and malted flavours. The sunny packaging is sure to brighten up your day too!

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose Fresh and fruity apples, pears, honeydew melon and strawberry, orange oil, malt sweetness and lemon cheesecake.

Palate Smooth and creamy, roasted nuts, toffee apple, toasty malted cereal and vanilla fudge alongside a hint of barrel char, freshened up by juicy apples.

Finish Buttery lemon shortbread sprinkled with sugar and vanilla pod.

Reviews for Nikka Days
Fine but not outstanding
Nose - orange oil and maltiness
Palate - not much fruit (to me at least), nutty and malty with a little barrel char. Light and smooth, but not particularly complex.
Finish - a little vanilla, but kind of short.

Very mellow and easy-drinking. Fans of Lowland whiskeys may appreciate this more than I did.

Lacks the wow factor
So uninspiring,
Akashi is better than this. This has cereal notes, cinder toffee, vanilla, floral, fruity. Light. Lacks the wow factor, very easy going.. too easy going.

For first time it was ok
It's OK
First time for me to try Japanese whisky it was good
But it won't beat Jameson whiskey

Smooth tasting
Lovely whisky to have in the cupboard as a backup for whenever you’ve run out of your favoured choice. It’s light tasting and for me the smoothness of the creamy mid and after taste far outweighs any fruitiness. Definite and constant staple edition to the drinks cabinet.

Worth a try. Clean and simple if a bit tame
Not bad! Nothing all that special but worth a try at the price point. Really comes alive in a highball with some dehydrated pineapple for a garnish! I wouldn't buy a second but I don't regret buying it for a second

Try mixing this with a bit of From The Barrel
You can make a superb and cheap, much enhanced Nikka blend by mixing three parts Nikka Days with one part From The Barrel, feel free to vary the percentage as you like. Gives the Days far more taste and mouthfeel, and obviously abolishes the ethanol overpower of the Barrel. It's amazing value for money as an everyday drinking Japanese.
I may get shot down for mucking about with distillery products but in my view the mix I'd far superior to either of them on their own

So easy drinking, a new favourite
Purchased as a big fan of From The Barrel. Although this is different its equally delicious, prefer Days with ginger and in a long drink and save my From The Barrel for sipping.

It's OK, but not good
The whiskey is OK. The taste is rather bland, was expecting more from a Japanese whiskey
If you van get it cheap, it's OK. But don't expect much.

Bright and summery!
I loved this whiskey. Super bright, crisp, and playful. Lots of green apple and pear, crazy drinkable neat but especially beautiful with an ice cube or in a high ball. Thoroughly recommend for the price - a great whiskey for the summer.
