It's the very first batch of Nc'nean single malt Scotch whisky independently bottled by That Boutique-y Whisky Company! Back in 2017, Annabel Thomas founded Nc'nean as the first fully organic modern distillery in Scotland powered by 100% renewable energy - a remarkable, commendable feat. The founder appears on the label, along with a gamut of the distillery crew, as well as a reference to the late, great Jim Swan, who worked with the team to help design the distillery, house style and maturation approach.
Batch 1 is a release of 411 bottles.
‘That Boutique-y Whisky Company’ bottles single malts, single grains and bourbons from a variety of renowned distilleries as well as producing award-winning blended malts and blends. These whiskies are adorned with cultish graphic novel-style labels.
Fruit-forward on the nose, with tangy orange and fresh apricot, while hints of fudge and nutmeg develop in the background.
Vanilla builds on the palate, but the fruitiness of the spirit remains at the fore. A slow build of soft pepper and caraway.
Big helpings of malt, citrus and dry cedar remain.
