Mortlach 8 Year Old 2011 (cask 13519) - Provenance (Douglas Laing)
Douglas Laing has gone and bottled and ace Mortlach, distilled over in Speyside in February 2001. It was filled into a single refill hogshead for the next eight years, until the Beast of Dufftown was bottled up for the Provenance series. A limited 380 bottles were released in August 2019, weighing in at 46% ABV.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Sweet and spicy, with honeyed baking spice, pain au chocolat and oily nuts.
Palate
Thick golden syrup notes, with melted brown sugar and baklava.
Finish
Oily lemon peel and treacle toffee.
