Sherry
A well-Sherried 22 year old Mortlach, bottled by the folks at Hunter Laing. It was distilled in September 1992 and left to age in a Sherry butt until October 2014. It was then bottled as part of the Old & Rare Platinum range at 56.8% ABV. 120 bottles were produced.
Wonderfully meaty with notes of honey-glazed ham. Joined by earthy leaves, black pepper and a hint of brown sugar.
Plummy and rich. Dark fruits are much more noticeable here, though it's still a classic meaty Mortlach at heart.
Long with stewed berries and cinnamon sticks.
