Mortlach 18 Year Old 1997 (cask 7182) - Un-Chillfiltered Collection (Signatory) Reviews

MMMmmmmm. Meaty Mortach

This has been uncorked for about 6 weeks now and it has really opened up. It's not the best cask, but that allows a lot of the distillery character to show through. It is a little firey, tasting less than its 18 years. But still, so damn good; a tough and rugged drink. A lot of character and rich, rich, earthy flavor.
Nose : Spirit fading to reveal cream of mushroom soup. Pepper. Stewed meats. Raisins and figs. Cloves and mutton.
Palette : Earthy and feral. Steak and ale pie (lovely!), red wine vinegar, mushrooms, cream, and spirit.
Finish : Ffirey and deep. Again with stewed meats, this time with vegetables. Long and savory.
